Book that was best at being WORSE than the movie:Colossus by D.F. Jones (the movie was The Forbin Project)
Book that the movie matched in quality: LOTR and Harry Potter tie.
Author that you grab any book they have written: Lois McMaster Bujold and Steven Brust
Author that you AVOID anything they have written: L. Ron Hubbard (with the notable exceptions of Battlefield Earth and Mission Earth)
