If you don't already know about the new flagging system then go here:

http://community.livejournal.com/lj_biz/

One thing to note is that the new system has YOUR settings set to filter based on this flag system.

If you don't have a birthdate listed in your profile it treats you as a child and won't let you change the filter settings.

Note that your Friends Page is considered a search by the system and thus is filtered.  If a friends entry is flagged as adult YOU WILL NOT SEE IT unless you change your filter settings.

Here is where to set them:

From [livejournal.com profile] roina_arwen who chose seven of my interests for me to explain what they are or why they interest me.

If you'd like me to choose seven of yours, please comment here.

agatha heterodyne
She is the heroine of Girl Genius by Kaja and Phil Foglio. I love the way she is portrayed with her slightly stumbling through adventure with her ability to handle just about any sitiuation she stumbles into.

bangladesh dupree
She is one of the minor characters of the Girl Genius series. I like her chaotic nature and the way she cheerfully spreads destruction around herself whenever she can possibly do so. Shes a real "Ask for forgiveness later" type...without the asking for forgiveness part.

issola
This is one of the Dragaeran Houses from Steven Brust's Taltos series. They tend to be supreme masters of tact and grace, talents which I lack usually so I am intrigued by how they manage it.

jhereg
Another of the Dragaeran Houses. This one is one of two of the houses that have former members of other houses in it. They generally are the backstreet businessmen type. The main hero of the series is of that house. I am intrigues by the rules that they DO follow as compared to the ones they don't.

krosp
Another of the minor characters in the Girl genius series. Krosp is a construct created to be the emperor of all cats. He was suppose to be an interface between his creator and normal cats...but his creator forgot the nature of cats...and although cats WILL listen to him they soon go on and do their own thing. I like to see him surprised by his own cat nature and his unfailing loyalty to Agatha.

lostkin
Hard one. I think I will refer you to my webpage on the subject here. (Since I coined the term and am one I figured I should include it in my interests)

the elfinkind digest
This is a mailing list started by one of my oldest friends...it deals with Otherkin and dealing with being otherkin...it is in fact where the term was coined. It is the first place I found other otherkin.

I uploaded a bunch of new user icons today...I had a bunch that I had put away thinking I might use them sometime...well it's sometime.

The two youngest boys got into the fridge and pantry again today.

They got the milk, two boxes of mac and cheese, a box of crackers (the wrapped up packages of 6), a bag of marshmallows, and two cups of applesauce.

I punished them for doing this before by not letting them play downstairs for the rest of the day...did that again today...but obviously it doesn't work.

I added a couple of butt swats for the instigator (Ben) to it today. Don't think that worked either...he cried for about thirty seconds and then went on about his business like nothing happened.

So I sat down with him in the kitchen and pointed out what could have happened.

He had climbed the pantry shelf to get the marshmallows...and I noticed that the first shelf he had to climb on had tilted a bit...I checked and the only thing that kept it from tilting completly out was a bag of microwave popcorn.

(I am paraphrasing the conversation after this point cause my memory isn't that good)

I took that out of the shelf in front of him and said "Look what could have happened." Then I pushed down on the shelf.

The entire shelf falls out and lots of stuff came crashing down around my hand....I asked him then..."and where would you be?"

"in the hobbital"

"Yep...so don't climb stuff.  You want something ask mommy or daddy."

"Now...the mac and cheese you got...did you eat any?"

"Yes"

"didn't taste very good did it?"

"..no"

"Thats because it needed to be cooked. Most of our food needs to be cooked...next time if you are hungry ask mommy or daddy for something....we'll get something for you...maybe not right then but we'll get you something."

Hope that works.

Couldn't sleep so I went back through all my journal entries and added tags to the ones that weren't tagged already.

Didn't take too long...I've only posted about 160 entries.

When I got to it I made my first post a memory.

I need to post more often I think...I should start making an effort to do so.

Been working a little bit on customizing my journal.

I'm fairly happy with the results. I think I'll keep the changes.

Found some mood icons I can live with. Plenty of expression and not too normal.

I love the mood icons that [livejournal.com profile] starfallz uses. They are very nicely done (and so darn cute.)

I decided my icon wasn't personal enough...thus the hand.

That is my hand and my tattoo.

I got the tattoo when I worked at Wheels...a friend at work was a tattoist and he finally talked me into it....I think mainly to piss off management...didn't work though...very few even noticed it...except for one little girl who spotted it when I dropped off her grandmother...she started yelling "Blue's Clues!"

My wife refers to it as my midlife crisis......but I like it...it means something...I'm not sure what but it's part of who I am.

I've been exploring today.

Looks fairly interesting.

I don't know what I have to add to this journalling thing but what the heck...

I'm off to expand my bio a bit. (easy to do..it's currently empty)
