pain

Had the worst migraine I've had in several years last night...maybe worst ever actually...

My head started hurting around 6 last night...low level to begin with...I took some naproxen...didn't help any...eating didn't help either.

I stayed up a little later than usual to watch TV with [livejournal.com profile] starsongky . I crawled off to bed around 11 with a mid-level pain.

I musta went to sleep because I had a weird asssed dream...don't remember any details...except it was weird.

The pain woke me up around 1 am...WOKE ME UP....that has never happened to me before...always before if I managed to get to sleep I would sleep through the rest of the headache.

I put an ice pack on my neck...the cold blood moving up into my head felt good....it also managed to dull the pain...I dozed off finally....got up at 6 when the alarm went off...getting the boys ready for school now....I'm sp groggy I can barely think.

Damn, that sucks. Do you remember where in your head the pain started? You might be able to trace a cause from that. Although, I suspect it may have something to do with Beast's treatments.

Don't remember..it started very weakly. I doubt it's the treatments... I woulda expected them to effect me earlier.

Well, identifying where the pain starts gives you a good idea. If it started just above or behind the ears, or in the forehead, it's probably sinuses - which would indicate the dust/mold mentioned below. There's no getting around that, if that's the case, without seeing an allergist, getting tested to know just what it is you're reacting to, and changing your environment to protect against it.

Boy, do I know that feeling. Naproxen is usually the only thing I can take which will touch a headache. Different metabolisms, I guess.

I suspect a combination of weather and allergies. Even folks who don't normally have allergy symptoms are congested and draining lately. See my own post for today to get some details.

I gradually become immune to pain killers...I haven't tried going back to any that I haven't used in years....they might have cleared my system.

He has a point about all the pet chemicals adding up. It also might be a delayed reaction to mold/dust from the past week's cleaning binge, or some stress-related immune system thing. Your system held it together long enough to get us through the inspection, then it said "Okay, that's over, time to collapse." It's the same way I'd work my ass off for 10 days straight to get through a busy stretch, then get sick my first day off.

Hopefully you're feeling better by now. {{hugs}}

I suspect you are right about the "held off" illness.

That sounds about right. As lawyers are often trained to call it, the "de-stress" illness kicks in once stressful (physically, psychologically, or both) situations ease off - mainly due to the immune system bogging down whenever stress reduces.

I've noticed you're not the only one complaining of similar headaches by the way. I've got a similar complaint, although mine's not nearly as bad as you describe your own.

Hope you're feeling better! A consultation with a doc might be a good idea. Pain that wakes you up is one of those red flags....

I'll have to consider that. I don't do doctors much.
