I love Sanctuary, really I do...but tonight's episode AGGGGAHAH!
Ok. They called it time dilation all the way through.
Then they try to pop the bubble by using more dilation...I can get that...it makes internal sense with the assumptions already made by allowing time dilation to begin with.
Then people disappear.
Oh it resets what has happened.
NO. Accelerated time in a localized area...turn it off...time no longer accelerating...no one should disappear, they lived through the time. (You quit hitting the accelerator on a car it doesn't go back to it's starting point...it just slows down.) So the explanation they provide does not fit.
Ok then maybe they were wrong....lets say that instead of just turning the acceleration off they reversed it and went into a fast reverse...then people CAN disappear that were born there...that would explain it right? Nope. If you reversed time in such a way then the people who had died should come back, everyone that was in the village to begin with should have come back as well as everyone who entered the bubble.
I don't ask a lot of my SF, I just mainly want it to be entertaining, and yes this episode was that, I loved the exploration (briefly) of the emotions behind eliminating an entire village, but I like it to make sense with the rules given to me by the story...and this doesn't.
Please someone give me some plausible explanation for it to work exactly like the episode presented.
